Year end Banquet
- Our fabulous year end banquet is held on Tuesday, October 3rd! Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance from any of our executive members! You will find us at the Club house every Tuesday in September or connect with us through emails that you can find on our website. www.mwlgc.ca
- It is also our annual general meeting, combined with a wonderful meal and prizes. We urge everyone to attend – it will be the last time many of us will see each other until the new season and it is a great evening to celebrate with a lovely meal, a beverage and many old and new friends!
- Registrations forms can be found under the Membership tab. Please postdate cheques for March 1, 2024 and do not send e-transfers until after February 1, 2024. We will be accepting MWLGC registrations at the banquet as well.

MWLGC Club Championship
What an amazing Club Championship that was held over the weekend! Thirty-three members golfed in beautiful weather and competed for the club’s overall winners!
What is our Club Championship? Club Championship Stroke Play is used. Two 18-hole rounds (Saturday & Sunday) are played using the RCGA rules of golf. Golfers are grouped together according to handicap, so you golf with others at a similar skill level. You must have an established handicap to participate and have played a minimum of three 18-hole games (or the equivalent) during the current season at Mill Woods.
The player with the lowest gross score is the Overall Low Gross Club Champion. Our 2023 winner is Sheila Davey! Congratulations!
The player with the lowest net score is the Overall Low Net Club Champion. This year’s winner is Linda Staal. Congratulations!
There were also lots of prizes for flights winners and proximity holes. Thank you to Tania T and the Tournament Committee for all your work for this event.

A reminder for our league:
Don’t forget! You will get a receipt from the Pro Shop when you pay for your round. Don’t throw it away! You need to present it to the Starter before your round.
Remember, starting in June, the first Tuesday of the month, we start on the back 9. This is especially nice for members who regularly only golf 9 holes. A big thank you to the Pro Shop for listening to us and supporting our league!
Pace of Play – at Mill Woods our pace of play is 2 hours for 9 holes and 4 hours for 18 holes.
- We do employ marshals who are tasked with making sure this is adhered to.
- We are a very busy public golf course and all our customers are required to play in the allotted time.
- Starting on May 16 our marshals will be asking slow groups to please pick up and move to the next hole if they are having trouble staying in the allotted time.
- We do have a lot of customers playing before and after Ladies League tee times.
Public singles and double players (either men or women) will be joined with members of the ladies league to make up foursomes. Public players have access to all tee times 7 days in advance of times and are allowed to book where there are openings. We, as the ambassadors of the Mill Woods ladies golf club, should always be gracious and welcoming to anyone who plays this game!
There are only 2 power carts allowed per group.
Please consider others when changing your tee times so a single who may have joined your group of two or three isn’t left hanging. We also suggest changing your settings in Tee-On to allow your name to be viewed by all league members. To do this, once in the Tee-On system (where you make a tee time), click on the left-hand corner, MENU. Then Click on My Account. Click on Preferences. Click on the box named, Show name in leagues. Then click on Save. This will now allow other players to see who they will be golfing with- it’s always nice to know your opponent’s name to greet them and say Hello!
