Due to renovations in the meeting rooms upstairs, we will no longer have access to a bulletin board where we post sign-up sheets, proximity hole winners and store the birdie tree slips and Ringer Board cards.
This year we will be posting up to date information on our website. Sign-up sheets for the tournaments will have links to Google Forms on the website. The Classic tournament will be on Sunday, June 22nd.
Weekly Proximity Prize Holes
There will be 3 proximity hole prizes every league play. If you win a hole, one of our prize committee members will contact you. The names of weekly winners will be posted on our website. A gift certificate will be available at the Pro Shop with your name on it!
Ringer Board
In our league you have the opportunity to use a Ringer Board. The Ringer Board is a hole-by-hole record of your personal game improvements (stroke for stroke) through the season. This is available to all members. Scores from club play (9 or 18 holes) or weekend club tournaments may be entered. The competition commences with the first day of club play and concludes mid-September.
Please note – To be eligible for prizes, anyone who is a member of MWLGC can participate! If you are entering your weekly golf score into Golf Canada’s website to maintain a current handicap, OR if you don’t maintain a handicap, everyone could win a prize! Prizes will be awarded at the year-end banquet.
Birdie Tree
We won’t have a physical Birdie Tree this year. If you get a Birdie, make sure to mark these on your own personal Ringer Board. You can download the 2025 Ringer Board form off our website, or you can use the cards that we will try to have available on Tuesdays in May during league games.
Tee-On
If you are new member of the league, you may not be familiar with booking through the Tee-On system.
To book a tee time you go to the Mill Woods Golf Course website, choose “Book A Tee Time”, then the drop down “League Tee Time”. This takes you to the Tee On sign in where you will enter your assigned Username. New members should have received an email with this number that will start with MILL. If you are a first-time user, you need to select “Forgot Username/Password?” and set up a new Password. On Tuesday, May 6, starting at 7:00 am, you will be able to see the selection of tee times available for your day or business league. You should be able to see open spots as well as other golfers who have already booked. One person can book for a group if you select from 1 to 4 spots and names should appear if you start entering their name under a tee time. All players booked in the tee time should receive a confirmation email.
*A reminder also that you will be required to post a credit card on your account. This is only used if cancellations aren’t made 3 plus hours before a tee time.
Please consider others when changing your tee times as a single who may have joined your group of two or three isn’t left hanging. We also suggest changing your settings in Tee-On to allow your name to be viewed by all league members. To do this, once in the Tee-On system (where you make a tee time), click on the left-hand corner, MENU. Then Click on My Account. Click on Preferences. Click on the box named, Show name in leagues. Then click on Save. This will now allow other players to see who they will be golfing with – it’s always nice to know your opponent’s name to greet them and say Hello!
At the Course: you will get a receipt from the Pro Shop when you pay for your round. Don’t throw it away! You need to present it to the Starter before your round.
Pace of Play – at Mill Woods our pace of play is 2 hours for 9 holes and 4 hours for 18 holes.
Keep up the pace of play. If your group falls behind the group in front of you or if requested by the Marshall to keep up, please do the following:
- As soon as TWO PLAYERS have finished putting, these two golfers should proceed to the next tee box and tee off while the other two golfers finish putting. Please continue this format until you have caught up to the group ahead.
There are public golfers playing before and after Ladies League tee times, and sometimes with our members. Public singles and double players (either men or women) will be joined with members of the ladies league to make up foursomes. Public players have access to all tee times 6 days in advance of ladies league times and are allowed to book where there are openings within our league times. We, as the ambassadors of the Mill Woods ladies golf club, should always be welcoming to anyone who may be joining us.
Club Values
We believe that each person brings a unique and important perspective, and that everyone deserves to be respected and treated fairly. We respect diversity, recognize each other’s skills, are gracious with each other’s weaknesses, and communicate with each other in a balanced, understanding, and respectful way. We act with integrity, building relationships with our members, our community and each other based on honesty and trust.
Mission Statement
The Club provides a welcoming environment for golfers of all skill levels, to socialize in the spirit of friendship and community. The Club hopes to stimulate fellowship, sportsmanship and lasting friendships among its members while promoting the best interest and true spirit of golf. Each golf day should present the opportunity for all golfers to make new friends and renew old acquaintances.
While we are navigating this year’s changes, please be respectful to the executive members, other golfers and staff at the course. We ask that you direct your feedback and suggestions to our executive. Together, we are stronger.
Thank you,
Your MWLGC Executive
